OUR LEGACY
From the time our father, Chief Akin Morohunfola, and our mother, Mrs. Mary Morohunfola, graduated from college and got married in 1956, they embarked on a legacy of using education as an instrument of growth of the human mind and potential. Over their almost 60 years of marriage, Chief and Mrs. Morohunfola educated and were fully responsible for the upkeep of 36 children who were raised in their home. These children have become successful in various walks of life.
Apart from the children raised in their home, Chief and Mrs. Morohunfola had major impacts in the education and development of thousands of children through their professional careers as classroom teachers, headmaster, headmistress and school principal. Chief and Mrs. Morohunfola used their spiritual gifts and discipline as followers of Christ to lead others into the Christian faith and lifestyle. They used their limited financial resources to assist anyone they were in positions to help. They did their best to influence, educate, develop, and provide leadership for their community.

We all have the opportunity to sow seeds into the next generation.
-
Building a legacy is one thing. Giving it to the next generation is another.
-
Kind, educated children are the most powerful legacy we can leave behind.
-
“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”
— Dolly Parton, Singer, Songwriter
-
“Legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people.”
— Peter Strople, Business Strategist.
-
“The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.”
— Kalu Ndukwe Kalu, Political Scientist
-
Many people think of legacy in material terms – big houses, a huge savings account, and vacation to exotic places. Leaving an impact, though, can be a more powerful legacy
-
An actionable legacy is evergreen. It lives on after you’re gone.

CONTINUING A LEGACY - Letter from the Board
The Inauguration of the Foundation and a 100-Million Naira Fundraising Event was held at Four Points by Sheraton Lagos, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria at 11:00 am on Monday, January 9, 2023. The event also marked the official launch and sale of the Second Edition of the Biography of Chief Abraham Akintola Morohunfola, the Akogun of Offa.
At the 80th birthday celebration of Chief Morohunfola in January 2009, the Abraham Akin Morohunfola Educational Endowment Fund (AAMEEF) was launched. Through this fund, more than fifty students were assisted in their post-secondary education.
The children of Chief and Mrs. Morohunfola wish to continue this legacy through the inauguration of the Akin & Mary Morohunfola Educational Foundation (AMMEF), both in Nigeria and the United States of America. Both Foundations work collaboratively to continue the legacy. AMMEF is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity. The Foundation Boards will be good stewards of all monies donated and will be transparent in their accountability.
We look forward to your continued support.
Sincerely,
AMMEF Board Members
